SAC Health Hosts Community Baby Shower to Support Mothers, Newborns, and Growing Families

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – SAC Health brought together mothers, mothers-to-be, and community partners for a heartfelt morning of education, essential resources, and workshops at its Brier Campus in San Bernardino.

The event on May 20th, hosted by SAC Health's Community Resource Center, drew expecting mothers at least 28 weeks and postpartum mothers (up to 2 ½ months) from across the Inland Empire for a community baby shower and newborn baby wellness day that went far beyond diapers. SAC Health delivered expert guidance and community resources to families who needed it most.
Attendees were welcomed into an afternoon full of workshops led by SAC Health's own specialists, including registered nutritionists, chaplain, and members of the SAC Health pediatrics team.
Topics covered throughout the day addressed some of the most critical early parenting milestones: newborn care, mental health & emotional wellness, and breastfeeding support, along with additional resources open to the community.
"The diaper shower event is such a fulfilling and exciting event here at SAC Health because it allows us to help new and expectant mothers in welcoming and preparing for a joyful moment,"
says Monica Saldana, manager of the SAC Health Community Resource Center.
"Our hope is to not only continue this program but also grow this event so we can extend an invitation to even more expectant mothers in the future."
Every attendee was treated to a catered lunch and fun, educational activities throughout the event. Guests also received curated gifts and blessings, including backpacks filled with diapers and essential baby items to help ease into the early demands of parenthood.
In a welcoming gesture of community generosity, Spreen Subaru of San Bernardino partnered with SAC Health to donate car seats to attending mothers and mothers-to-be. This contribution by the Subaru Loves to Help team not only directly informs about the safety of newborns on the road, but also equips mothers with the tools they need for the early journey of motherhood.
