The event's highlight was the distribution of a free turkey to every attendee, ensuring hundreds of families could enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving centerpiece. In addition to the turkeys, SAC Health provided a variety of fresh, healthy food items to complete the holiday meal.
"Every year, we organize a food drive at our clinics, and this is the first at our new Brier Campus," said Dr. Jason Lohr, CEO of SAC Health. "As with previous food drives, we hosted hundreds of our community members today. We rallied together to support our neighbors who are most vulnerable and face the daily challenge of food insecurity. Our goal is always to support the health and well-being of our community, and through our Community Resource Center we provide food and other lifestyle assistance.
The distributed food items included:
· A turkey for each household
· Fresh vegetables (corn, bell peppers, broccoli, etc.)
· Fresh fruits (bananas, oranges, and apples)
The SAC Health Brier Campus Thanksgiving Food was co-sponsored by Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino
